MNT-Halan, Egypt's pioneering unicorn and a valued tenant at The GrEEK Campus West, has successfully raised $157.5 million in its latest funding round. This new influx of capital pushes the company’s total funding to an impressive $677.5 million over the past two years.
A significant portion of this investment comes from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), with additional backing from Development Partners International (DPI), Lorax Capital Partners, Apis Partners LLP, Lunate, and GB Corp. These funds will be pivotal in accelerating MNT-Halan’s expansion across the region and broadening its financial service offerings beyond Egypt.
Since its inception in 2018, MNT-Halan has achieved remarkable growth, increasing its user base twentyfold to surpass seven million individuals. The company has also disbursed over $4.4 billion in loans and boasts 2.2 million active users each quarter.
